Research Opinion: Apollo Group, Inc. (APOL)

Last Updated: June 31, 2008 – 6:00pm EST

NEW YORK—Ludlow Capital Group, Inc. initiates research coverage on Apollo Group, Inc. (NASD:APOL) with a B- rating, and price target of $75 per share.

Summary

As the economy continues to stagnate from high energy prices, and subprime housing meltdown, more people are expected to turn back to education to rebuild work skills during this economic slowdown. Historicly, people tend to turn back to school during recession and economic slowdowns, and APOL provides the key leadership within this sector online with the University of Pheonix.

Although APOL remains the leader within the online education sector, the stock has delivered a strong performance during July 2008, and we would recommend buying on any dips and not be an aggressive chaser at these levels. Ludlow Capital Group has issued a B- rating on APOL, with a near-term price target of $75 per share.
